The Village Climate Solutions Project (VCSP) has submitted a Request for Verification Approval following the successful completion of verification for the period April 2022 to June 2024.
The verification was conducted by AENOR, a Spain-based accredited independent validation and verification body, and covered both Climate, Community & Biodiversity (CCB) re-validation and verification of carbon results.
A total of 606,037 Verified Carbon Units (VCUs) were confirmed as tradable mitigation outcomes, representing a significant scale-up in the project’s performance and impact.
The verification process included a site visit conducted in March 2025, enabling direct engagement with communities and field-level assessment of project implementation. The verification report was subsequently completed on 19 October 2025.
This milestone represents another important step forward for the project and is expected to deliver premium revenues to communities, grounded in opportunity costs and sustained forest conservation efforts.
This submission marks a major scale-up in impact and positions VCSP to deliver high-quality climate mitigation outcomes alongside meaningful community benefits.
